It is with great sadness that we inform you of the
passing of Brother Nelson Stokes. The members of Division 295 wish to extend our
deepest sympathy to the Stokes family. Nelson will be missed by all who had the good fortune of
knowing him.
NELSON MARSHALL EARL STOKES (Retired from C.P. Rail
after 47 years as a railroad engineer) God called Nelson
peacefully on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 in his 77th
year from Gibson Long Term Care Centre, North York. Son
of the late Nelson George and Lillian Stokes. Survived
by sisters Mildred (late Bud) Anderson of Calgary and
Eileen (Harry) Little of Sauble Beach and brother-in-law
Clare Jessup of Picton. Predeceased by Victoria (Harry)
Matthew, Beatrice (Ted) Manning, Sadie Jessup and Jim
(Muriel) Stokes. Held dear in the hearts of his nieces,
nephews and many friends. Over the years Nels loved to
entertain one and all with his fiddle music and was a
life long fan of Don Messer. He was a life long
committed member of his church.
Visitation:
Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. until time of
service at 1:30 p.m. at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home,
166 Main Street N. (Markham Road), Markham ON. Interment
in Little Britain United Church Cemetery. |
