Brother
Ron Bowman began his railway career in April 1973 as a Yardman at CNR in
Toronto. He left CN later that year and hired on with the CPR in London
on June 13th 1973.
Ron served terms as President and Vice Local Chairman for UTU Local
568 where his contribution helped improve the working conditions for all
the members in London. In 1996 he accepted a position in Calgary where
he worked in Safety and Regulatory affairs. Ron returned to the running
trades in 2000 as a Conductor on the GO Trains and London Pick up. He then
transferred to Toronto and Division 295 where he remained until his
recent retirement.
On June 9th 2010 Ron attended Division 295's monthly meeting where he
was met by numerous friends and well-wishers. Brother Bruce Hiller
presented Brother Bowman with a Teamsters wristwatch on behalf of the
TCRC GCA CTY East.
Ron's presence, example and positive outlook will be missed by every
person that had the good fortune of working with him over his lengthy
career. The members of Division 295 wish brother Bowman continued good
health, happiness & success during his richly deserved retirement.
