It is with great sadness that we inform you of the
passing of Brother Val Walker.
WALKER, Valois (Val) born January 17, 1934, in Kingston to Florence
Rochefort and James E. Walker. Died June 7, 2010 at Meaford Long Term
Care Home. Survived by his wife Diane (Caron), his mother Florence Ryan,
Seeley's Bay, children; Valerie Susan, Valerie Jane, Sarah, Janet,
step-children: Kim, Wendy, Michael and spouses, and eleven
grand-children. Also, sisters Denyse Walker-Hand, Kingston, Judy Ryan,
Seeley's Bay, Susan and Jaime Walker, Newmarket, brother Graham Walker,
Courtenay, B.C., and several nieces, nephews and cousins in the Kingston
and Smiths Falls area. Predeceased by his father James E. Walker, his
step-father John C. Ryan and sister Mercedes Amey Waddell. Val spent his
early life in Kingston attending St. Mary's School and Regi. He played
hockey for Max Jackson's Vics and later with the Smiths Falls Rideaus
before moving to Toronto. However, Kingston was home and he returned to
see family and friends whenever possible. In keeping with Val's wishes
he was cremated and a memorial service will be held June 25, 2010 at
11:00 a.m. at St. George's Anglican Church in Clarkesburg, Ontario. In
lieu of flowers, donations to the Meaford Long Term Care Home would be
appreciated by the family.
