Brother Mark Van Gogh retires!

After 26 years on the railroad, Brother Mark Van Gogh has officially taken his final trip aboard Train 2118-24 on September 26th, 2026 and is beginning a well-deserved retirement.
Throughout his career, Mark has been a highly respected Locomotive Engineer and valued member of Division 295. Never one to shy away from sharing his wisdom and experience, Mark has played an important role in mentoring junior employees, offering guidance, and helping those working alongside him navigate the challenges of the railroad while ensuring everyone makes it home safely to their families.
His sense of humour, conversations on the engine, and familiar presence in the bunkhouse will certainly be missed by the entire North Pool.
Mark holds a special place among the officers of Division 295. He has been an unwavering supporter of the work our representatives do in Toronto, always willing to offer encouragement, insight, and advice.
Mark has never hesitated to speak up on behalf of the membership. Whether identifying potential violations, sharing detailed information, or bringing forward concerns on behalf of colleagues who may not feel comfortable speaking for themselves, Mark has consistently helped ensure our representatives have the information needed to advocate for all members affected.
His willingness to support his fellow Brothers and Sisters, combined with his dedication to safety and the betterment of the membership, is something Division 295 sincerely appreciates.
Mark, thank you for 26 years of dedication, friendship, mentorship, and service.
Division 295 wishes you a long, happy, and healthy retirement. We hope this next chapter brings you plenty of relaxation, laughter, and time to enjoy everything life has to offer.
You've earned it, Brother!
We look forward to seeing you off the rails!
In Solidarity,TCRC Division 295
